Oct 13, 2006 · Guys I was thinking of buying a cheap rock tumbler/polisher to clean all of my misc nuts and bolts for my snowmobile, Dirtbike and Truck. Does anyone think this is a good idea? Or will I end up ruining the threads?

I know the ABC's of reloading mentioned that it is but I don't know if that holds true for all rock tumblers. Heres the one in question. I know it's not as good as actual brass tumblers, but for small amounts of brass I don't know.

Jun 03, 2011 · Since the homemade case lube thread was a hit, thought I would pass along some more useful info. You don't need to buy "tumbling media." Go to a pet store, like Petco. Buy walnut bedding. Usually an 8# bag will run $6-8. Dump it in your tumbler. Throw in 2 or 3 used dryer sheets. Tumble for about 1/2 hour. Remove the sheets.
